Life was peaceful in the valley, between two mountains. So peaceful in fact, that not even the wind blew there. This of course led to really hot days and cool nights. Almost like a hot house, so it was perfect for Lily who was a green-thumbed gardener extraordinaire.

The house is quiet except for the sound of the wind outside and the gentle occasional snoring next to me. My ears strain to hear the sounds as my brain tries to locate then identify them and their origin.
Your eyes haunt me as they stare into mine. I watch as they change color and tears begin to form. A hand like a vice encircles my heart. Squeezing. Don’t leave me.
